Stove top grates

This is more of a complaint than a review. I called the support people and our problem isn't under warranty. We have had our stove for 6 months and our top is so scratched up because of the design of your grates. there are rubber spots on the flat corners but not on the long parts of the grate that hit the top. no matter how careful you are moving the grates to clean it is metal on metal. This is a horrible design on an expensive stove. It is very frustrating that our top looks like it does and nothing we can do. I would have never bought this stove if we had known about this horrible design. I'm sure nothing will be done but you need to know what is going on with this horrible design!!!!!

We recently purchased this Frigidaire gas range and have only used it a few times. Unfortunately, during the very first hour of use, we noticed that the burner heads became badly stained. It was disappointing to see such visible wear and staining so quickly, especially on a brand-new appliance.We are really disappointed with the quality of the materials used. The overall design looks good, but the durability™€"at least for the burner parts™€"does not meet expectations. Given the price point of this range, I would have expected much higher quality materials that could better withstand normal cooking conditions.I would rate this appliance 3 out of 5 stars. It functions, but the material quality and value for the price are not where they should be.

Gorgeous, but insanely flawed design

Initially, it looks AWESOME. But it's been two days and I already see two major issues/flaws. 1) The product says it is "smudge proof". It is not. It hasn't even been used yet, and there are fingerprints and smudges all over the front of it and they are not easily wiped off. Not entirely sure when the "smudge proof" technology kicks in. 2) The cast iron grates look fantastic, BUT they scratch the appliance because the little rubber pads that are provided do not actually cover the parts that TOUCH the stovetop. This oven looks SO NICE, but these two design flaws are pretty big flaws.... over time, the cast iron grates will tear up the cook top. To be safe, I even added my own rubber "feet" as protection, but there are still other parts of the grates that I can't protect that will inevitably touch the gorgeous stainless cooktop.

I like the look of this range, especially the large oven cavity, large glass door and sliding rack for easy removal of cooked items. The cooktop is super easy to clean and looks great if you want the stainless steel showing over a black top. I do not particularly like the super small drawer under the oven, it's too small for pots or pans and just fits the cast iron griddle for storage. I also wish the grates had better bumpers as you can scratch the stainless if not careful. All in all I love the functions for backing/roasting, the steam option and clean option.

Looks great and we have not tested all functions just yet, but right off the top a couple of issues that ruined it for us to completely enjoy it: 1. It would have been great if the gas line position was integrated in the design, it did fit perfectly with our previous stove to slide it all the way to the wall, with this one your line better be on the floor otherwise it created a 3" gap in the back, that looks and feels horrible, and changing where our gas line comes from would cost probably more than the stove. 2. Another minor but still very annoying "feature": the middle digit of the degrees number is missing the top segment. It's like: didn™€™t we pay enough to get the full number?! If you can look over these couple of things - amazing!

Haven't had the Gas Range very long but overall seems to be built well. You need to use aluminum foil and parchment paper on a cookie sheet under air fry basket when using air fry to avoid oven smoking. Not impressed with the steam clean as it doesn't get hot enough to clean anything. Otherwise so far its working well.

Broke 8 days after installation

Oven stopped working 8 days after installation. Control panel went completely dark. No light in oven, no way to turn it on. Knobs still work and light up, but oven does not come on and even if it did there is no way to tell the temp. Stovetop still works. Obviously a bad board. This happened on a Saturday. Had to wait nearly 48 hours to call Frigidaire to schedule a service call. The first service provider accepted an appt from Frigidaire for Wednesday, then immediately texted me and changed the appt for a week later. Called Frigidaire back and they set up appt with another service provider. They were supposed to be here this morning, but never showed. So the warranty service is a joke. Here I am with a $2K+ appliance that I cannot use for its intended purpose. I had to cancel plans to host the holiday because I have no way to cook. Plus the installers scratched up my kitchen floor and were not going to use the new gas connector that I was required to purchase, until I insisted that they use it. This has been an horrible experience. I am beyond upset. Never again would I consider another Frigidaire product.

We bought this oven from a local appliance store and love almost all of it™€¦almost. The fit and finish of this product is stunning and has a well built feature set. The oven capacity is massive and the gliding rack a huge bonus. My wife especially loves the six individual burners which is much more useful than a large oval center burner. The air fryer feature is nice but takes far too long to heat up and cook food for casual use but if we are having a party then it™€™s a game changer. The only issue we have is the front left burner is so high that you could practically use it to weld thing! It™€™s so so so far above the rest that we had to make a service call and even then it was high. Thankfully we watched the service man fix it so we now know how to adjust the height (small set screw far behind the knob) but it shouldn™€™t have shipped like that. Other than that one small issue, we absolutely love this product!

The features that Frigidaire has added to this gas range makes it a better choice than high end models at over twice the price. Built in probe and steam bake/roast features are awesome. Perfect crust on bread. Spot on roasting with the probe. Range top layout is nicely improved by eliminating the old oval center burner and replacing it with two smaller ones resulting in a more usable six burner stove top. You can just do so much with a 30™€ stove top but Frigidaire has figured out how to maximize burner efficiency in the 30™€ space. Well done Frigidaire!

We did a total reno of our kitchen and wanted a professional stovetop and oven. This unit looks the part but the quality of the pan below the burners of the stove is absolutely useless. The heavy duty grates are great but they really scratch the finish of the pan below as does ANY scratch sponge. BE SURE to place the grates exactly where they belong or you WILL have scratches. DO NOT USE a green scratcher part of the sponge on this unit as it will leave marks which are NEVER coming out. The burner ring on our model turned a shade of brown after the first use. It looks like it was ceramic unlike the other burners which are metal. Really disappointing. I'm going to have to buy a protector for the stovetop if I can find one. BTW, you can only upload images after you complete the review. Look at the decolorization of the burner ring compared with the others. And the scratches from the grates on the liner.

All the features work as advertised except the simmer setting on the front right burner does not work, apparently it™€™s a dual burner. It always flares out when on simmer or low heat, I cannot get it to work properly. I have had a technician look into it and the problem still persists. It™€™s frustrating, after three warranty calls and the issue is unresolved. My gas pressure is good as I had my gas provider check it. I don™€™t know what the issue could be, my unit might be defective. At the least the design of the burner is poor!

Overpriced and Poorly Designed

Our Frigidaire range (Model PCFG3080AFC) is not quite six months old. The feature that most attracted us was steam cleaning. For quite some time, we have wanted to steam clean the oven and the first time we tried it out, it did not generate any steam. And since there was no steam, nothing was cleaned. How do we know? Following the manual, we poured one cup of water into the bottom of the oven and ran steam-clean from start to finish. At the end the cycle, there was still water in the bottom of the oven. It felt slightly warm to the touch. Thinking we might have done something wrong, we ran steam-clean with the original cup of water two more times. The water did not appear to have evaporated at all. Using a syphon hose pump, we recovered slightly less than 1 cup of water. Clearly, no steam was generated. Thinking that maybe the steam clean cycle might have allowed time for things to cool off, we tried checking water temperature in the middle of the cycle. The water was less than lukewarm and the walls of the oven were only warm to the touch.We called the dealer who dispatched a technician to repair the problem. Unfortunately the technician had not seen this range before and was unfamiliar with the steam-clean operation. He called Frigidaire tech support for help. After running some tests it was reckoned that the oven was functioning as designed. It should be noted that the technician on site did not perform any tests with water. When I pointed out that the water never got hot, the answer was that the unit was functioning as per design.We then contacted Frigidaire customer service who looked up the ticket and asserted that there was nothing wrong with the oven. It was functioning correctly. When we insisted that since there was no steam, it couldn™€™t possibly clean, Frigidaire then dispatched an authorized repair technician who did just about the same thing as the previous technician; again, no water was used in testing. The second technician also contacted Frigidaire tech support. The result was the same. ™€œThe unit is functioning correctly™€. But when we claimed there was no steam, second technician was told that the steam was there, it just couldn™€™t be seen. When I tried to explain how I proved that there was no steam, second technician became annoyed and told me that he was finished, was leaving, and wasn™€™t going to listen to any of my stories.In summary, Frigidaire product support couldn™€™t be any worse. The product has been misrepresented that it steam cleans when clearly, there is no steam. The sides and bottom of the oven only reach lukewarm to the touch. The Frigidaire tech support can only state that this is how the product was designed to work. The repair technicians had no answers. Both technicians could not possibly claim that any cleaning occurred. Evidently, either the oven or its design is defective. We are truly disappointed because the steam feature is what sold us and it patently doesn™€™t work. Frigidaire refuses to acknowledge that fact; rather the blame lies with the customer (us).

Front Right burner doesn't work properly on simmer

The oven excels in every area except the simmer level on the front right burner consistently flares or turns off after a few minutes of cooking, apparently it is a dual burner. It is frustrating as I have had three warranty calls about it and the issue still remains. None of the technicians could fix it. I think my unit or that particular burner is defective. If that's not the case them the simmer function was designed poorly!

Unfortunately the technician had not seen this range before and was unfamiliar with the steam-clean operation. He called Frigidaire tech support for help. After running some tests it was reckoned that the oven was functioning as designed. It should be noted that the technician on site did not perform any tests with water. When I pointed out that the water never got hot, the answer was that the unit was functioning as per design.We then contacted Frigidaire customer service who looked up the ticket and asserted that there was nothing wrong with the oven. It was functioning correctly. When we insisted that since there was no steam, it couldn™€™t possibly clean, Frigidaire then dispatched an authorized repair technician who did just about the same thing as the previous technician; again, no water was used in testing. The second technician also contacted Frigidaire tech support. The result was the same. ™€œThe unit is functioning correctly™€. But when we claimed there was no steam, second technician was told that the steam was there, it just couldn™€™t be seen. When I tried to explain how I proved that there was no steam, second technician became annoyed and told me that he was finished, was leaving, and wasn™€™t going to listen to any of my stories.In summary, Frigidaire product support couldn™€™t be any worse. The product has been misrepresented that it steam cleans when clearly, there is no steam. The sides and bottom of the oven only reach lukewarm to the touch. The Frigidaire tech support can only state that this is how the product was designed to work. The repair technicians had no answers. Both technicians could not possibly claim that any cleaning occurred. Evidently, either the oven or its design is defective. We are truly disappointed because the steam feature is what sold us and it patently doesn™€™t work. Frigidaire refuses to acknowledge that fact; rather the blame lies with the customer (us).

I LOVE everything about this range. Had my first boil over, but the clean up was a snap because it didn't burn into the range top. Feel like my Viking cookware is working way better than with my last gas range. Oven is awesome for roasting meat!

New Frigidaire Gas Range

We have had our new gas cooktop/oven now for about two and a half weeks and absolutely love it! The six burners are exactly what we needed and have had zero issues so far. The BTU rating is exactly what it said it was and heats up very quickly and meals come out great! I grew up with a gas stove in the 70's and have missed it since then. Electric cooktops and stove are okay but gas is way better and more efficient. Why we waited so long to convert is beyond me but we will never go back to electric and gas is with us for as long as we can use it.

NO STEAM CLEAN

Have this oven 2 months. Approximately around the 4th week ran the steam clean option. Did not work. 3 visits later an appliance repairman said appliance was NOT repairable. Another appliance repairman was then sent from #4. He called Frigidaire and then we were told oven was operating as normal. So now normal means NO STEAM CLEAN. Then my wife called Frigidaire and they are sending another repairman #5 on Monday. Anything other than a refund or replacement is not acceptable.

This Frigidaire Professional Range is awesome. It has every function you could want, I have tried about half of them already. Airfry works great, Steam bake creates the best baked goods. I love the Steam clean function also.
